This web-site contains a history of Christianity in Tonbridge, Kent.  From the menu above or Contents Page, you can access articles about the individual Christian churches and organisations in Tonbridge and Hildenborough as well as some more general history of Christianity in Kent and Tonbridge as a whole.  You'll find interesting facts and figures, anecdotes and photographs as well as information about the churches' activities in the community.  It is particularly written for use by schools (and most of the articles have quizzes for you to test your learning!), although it should prove a useful resource to anyone interested in learning more about the subject.

The research and text for the articles on this web-site was produced by Les Simms with the churches' co-operation for a workbook which has been distributed to all primary and secondary schools in Tonbridge.  Where extra material has been added, this is acknowledged on the specific page.  The workbook is also available for £5 from several local churches.  The structure of the web-site largely follows the layout of the book, although it has been reformatted and extra pictures have been added in places.  The complete web-site is available for your on-line use free of charge; if you find it useful please consider purchasing the printed workbook rather than printing pages out yourself.  The project is backed by TOUCH 2000, a united initiative of the churches of Tonbridge and Hildenborough.
